Can all kids participate in TFKCOL?
TFKCOL takes groups of up to 11 kids, aged 11 to 17 from the Twin Cities. Our young cyclists come from public schools, alternative schools, community recreation programs, scouting groups, churches, and other youth organizations. Administrators from these sources should contact TFKCOL to find out more about available dates and locations.
Where do TFKCOL biking adventures take place?
TFKCOL trips are based in Theodore Wirth Park in Minneapolis. Theodore Wirth is beautiful urban park covering 742 acres of land 3 miles from downtown Minneapolis. It has an extensive network of wonderful trails, including forest mountain bike trails maintained by the Minnesota Off Road Cyclist’s Association (MOCA) and paved bike paths.
Rides meet at the Theodore Wirth Chalet at 1301 Theodore Wirth Parkway Minneapolis, Minnesota.
If you would like to schedule a ride at a location other than Theodore Wirth Park we can bring the bikes to wherever you would like to ride. However, for off site rides we charge $250.00 plus $1.00/mile to cover bike transportation expenses.
Are there fees to enroll kids in the TFKCOL program?
TFKCOL is a non-profit organization. Administrators only have to transport kids to Theodore Wirth Park and pick them up after the ride. TFKCOL takes care of everything else.
